The beginning of a new year is naturally a time for reflection. We set goals, design plans, and project targets—both personally and professionally. But for this year, 2026, I want to invite you to aim for a target that transcends time: bringing the hope of a certain future to children and adolescents in Africa, Indonesia, and Mozambique.

This year holds deep meaning for us. It marks one year since my beloved husband, Dervy, went to be with the Lord. His absence is felt in every detail, but the memory of his integrity and his tireless dedication to the mission of saving lives through Sports2Hope is what drives me forward. As Lamentations 3:21 teaches us: “I will bring to mind what gives me hope.”

Real Transformation: A Story from Indonesia To illustrate what your partnership builds, I want to share a fruit we gathered from our mission in Indonesia. Following the example of the Master Jesus in seeking the lost, we brought our futsal program inside a prison.

There, we met a young man who volunteered to be a goalkeeper. The isolation of the cell had already made him reflect on the weight of rebellion, but the arrival of our team of coaches brought something new: light. With every practice, the rules of sports were woven with words of faith. We taught him that he wasn’t just an inmate, but someone deeply loved by God—so much so that Christ gave His life for him.

The Result of Perseverance Sports worked on his physical strength and discipline; the Word of God worked on his character. As his release date approached, this young man made a firm decision: he didn’t just want physical freedom; he wanted a new life. Upon leaving prison, he didn’t seek his old paths, but instead reached out to the church and the Sports2Hope project.

Today, the results are clear:

  • Conversion and Baptism: In December 2024, he publicly confirmed his decision for Jesus through baptism.

  • Restored Character: His family, though not yet converted, witnesses the radical change in his behavior.

  • New Goals: He is now an integral part of our futsal team, standing as an example of perseverance and skill.

Partner with us in 2026 Seeing lives like this young man’s being rescued is what allows us to say: it is worth investing in Sports2Hope. Your gift is more than a financial resource; it is the tool that clears minds and rebuilds dignity.

This year, we invite you to take the field with us.

  • I want to make a one-time donation.

  • I want to become a monthly partner.

Together, let’s turn sports into hope.
